The Library Automated Retrieval System (LARS) is a stand alone binding preparation program for the library.
Features of LARS
LARS simplifies the process of preparing your bindery order. LARS maintains a database of all periodical binding records and produces binding tickets on demand. Data is transferred to and from the bindery via ftp, email, memory stick or other method. LARS is also used to enter monograph titles and print binding tickets. This eliminates the need to manually write out binding tickets.
LARS is simple to use with extensive search capabilities for periodical titles in the LARS database. Formatting templates make entry of new titles or monograph titles simple. Other features include item tracking, department listing, and combined shipment lists in a variety of sorting methods.
Service and Installation
The LARS software program is available free of charge from Wallaceburg Bookbinding. This complete software package includes support, training time and initial database loading where applicable. The library needs to be binding regularly to qualify for LARS. Call 1-800-214-2463 to see if LARS is suitable for your library.
